New trojans for the Android are found!

Researchers have faced a new trojan for Android which sends sms under paid numbers.

Known under name HippoSMS, the new trojan differs that automatically sends SMS on paid telephone numbers and doesn't suppose precautionary messages on expenses which expect users.

It was found out by researchers of the State university of Northern Carolina on July, 10th. Researchers have found HippoSMS in China on alternative Android Market. While it is not known, whether there was a trojan in official shop.

HippoSMS it is built in one of application and it is activated right after to installation on the device working on Android. "Our research shows that HippoSMS is activated together with application", - the assistant to the professor of chair of computer sciences has written Ksuksian Jing.

Then the virus traces entering SMS and deletes everything that is sent by providers of mobile services. Providers usually send the notifying messages, concerning the user accounts (for example, the information on current balance). Deleting messages, the trojan thus hides the information on expenses of the user till the moment of reception of the final account.

At the moment HippSMS works only with users in China and sends SMS only on certain numbers. This sort of viruses which dispatch messages on elite numbers, are extended in Russia, China and Ukraine.
