Facebook attacked by Trojans

Facebook users have been victims of the Trojan Win32/Delf.QCZ. This malware disables antivirus programs that are not updated for a long time (meaning the signatures database.)

Social networks continue to be the main source of spread of malicious software. Facebook is no exception.
Specialists of ESET found a Trojan, which is rapidly spreading in a given social network.

The Trojan sends the message to one of the users with the text «Hi! How are you? ». In this case the letter contains the name of the recipient and a malicious link to the video. As soon as you try to watch the video, there is a message to download a new version of Flash Player. After confirming the installation starts downloading malicious code.

According to data obtained by means of early-warning systems ThreatSense.Net, mostly victims of Win32/Delf.QCZ become users in Central and Eastern Europe. The greatest number of infections were recorded in countries such as Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Serbia / Montenegro. An increasing number of infections in Israel, Asia-Pacific region, Thailand and Malaysia.

"To prevent infecting your computer with this malware, we strongly recommend that users not in any way not to respond to such messages", said Pavel Demyanenko, head of technical support ESET in Ukraine.

In addition, these messages are easily recognized, especially non-English speaking residents of countries. Due to the increasing number of such attacks, we can advise users of social networks to be extremely cautious. Do not open suspicious attachments and emails from unknown authors and do not click on suspicious links. You should also configure all the necessary security and confidentiality.

In addition, you must install on your computer safe and effective antivirus software with current signature database (license antivirus software with current signature database will provide reliable protection for your computer and prevent infection trojan Win32/Delf.QCZ).
